How to configure DHCP Scope Options on Windows Server 2016


DHCP Scope Options are used to configure the settings that get distributed to every device that connects to the DHCP Scope,


The following guide will show you how to configure DHCP Scope Options on Windows Server 2016 with step by step instructions.

Requirements: Before you can setup DHCP Scope Options you need to install a DHCP Role and create a DHCP Scope.

Step 1: To configure DHCP Scope Options. Click “Tools” on the menu bar located in the top right then click “DHCP” on the drop down menu.


Step 2: Click the arrow pointing to the right in order to list your IPv4 and IPv6 DHCP Server.


Step 3: Left click the arrow pointing to the right next to IPv4.


Step 4: Left click the arrow pointing to the right next to the DHCP Scope that you want to set DHCP Scope Options for.


Step 5: Click Scope Options. Here you will see your current DHCP Scope Options. If you want to configure more Scope Options you can right click “Scope Options” and click “Configure Options…” in the popup menu.


Step 6: Here you can see over 70+ Scope Options that can be set. Remember each option you set here is what gets set on every device that connects to your DHCP Scope. Check off the options you would like to set then configure and click the “OK” to continue.
